Exel

Nick joined Exel as junior graphic designer in November 1995 and during the following nine years he made a significant impact upon corporate design with his creative and pragmatic approach. Having initially worked on corporate and financial presentations for Exel Logistics and its parent NFC plc, Nick became responsible for managing Exel Logistics’ corporate identity, providing oversight across all media. In 1999 he worked closely with Enterprise IG to develop a new visual identity for Exel plc, created and authoring electronic identity guidelines to accompany the rebranding. However, following the merger of Exel plc and Ocean plc in July 2000, creating a truly integrated global logistics company with annual revenues of £4.3 billion, Nick implemented the second major identity change in twelve months, involving creative direction of Quadraphic Design and once again devising comprehensive branding guidelines for the newly merged company for stationery, signage, vehicle livery, uniforms and printed matter and going on to prescribe visual themes for the new Exel website in 2004. Exel plc was acquired by Deutsche Post AG in 2005.

“Nick’s high level of attention to detail and his flair for functional and aesthetic design have helped to elevate Exel to the forefront of the supply chain industry. Exel owes much to Nick's ability to think clearly and always to perceive what is best for the Exel brand. His design expertise and experience have proved to be a steadying influence, providing brand continuity in an ever-changing business environment.”
